*Substitute care and foster care include children ages 0 to 20. Children age out of DFPS legal responsibility at age 18 but may remain in foster care. Youth ages over 18 who are in foster care are counted in substitute care.

**Relative Care means any type of relative placement including relatives who have been verified as foster parents and relative caregivers who are not verified foster parents.

Statewide, 30 children were removed solely to obtain mental health services for the child:
Bexar County had four children, Comal County had three children; Dallas and El Paso
Counties had two children each. "Counties with one child each included Bell, Bowie, Cherokee, Collin, Denton, Guadalupe, Hockley, Johnson, Lamb, Limestone, Maverick, Medina, Nueces, Orange, Polk, Titus, Tom Green, Travis, & Williamson "
