Trevor Woodruff was appointed DFPS deputy commissioner in 2016. He previously served as DFPS general counsel. After several years in private practice, Trevor joined the department. During his tenure with the department, Trevor has served as a special litigation attorney, appellate attorney, managing attorney, and associate general counsel. In his various positions, Trevor has represented the department in jury trials and complex cases, represented the department before the Texas Supreme Court and all fourteen courts of appeals, and has overseen the department's special litigation. Trevor has also had the opportunity to serve as an advisor and speaker on a range of trial and appellate issues.
Trevor holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Texas Tech University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech School of Law.
