History of the Heart Gallery
The Heart Gallery originated in 2001 in Santa Fe., NM to provide a unique way to
raise community awareness of the need for adoptive homes for children in foster
care. The Heart Gallery has been extremely successful as photographers, churches,
gallery owners and volunteer’s work together, donating their time and talents, to
help open hearts and minds to the needs of these wonderful children.
The Heart Gallery has received national attention in Parade Magazine, People
Magazine, the New York Times, and by ABC’s Peter Jennings who recognized the
Heart Gallery photographers as the “Persons of the Week.”
In 2005 a variety of events and venues marked the beginning of the Heart Gallery of
North Texas. It was a collaborative effort between Lena Pope Home, CASA, The
Department of Family and Protective Services and Gerald Peters Gallery.
Since that time, the Heart Gallery has continued to expand and now travels to
events and churches throughout North Texas.
