Residential Contracts (24-Hour Residential Child Care)

Quick Links

Introduction

DFPS contracts with about 300 licensed residential child-care providers to provide substitute care to children in DFPS’s managing conservatorship. Through these contracts, DFPS establishes the qualifications, standards, services, expectations, and outcomes for 24-hour child-care facilities and child-placing agencies.

Residential Contract Managers are regionally based DFPS staff responsible for assessing, monitoring, and managing these contracts. Residential contract managers serve as liaisons between DFPS field staff and providers ensuring effective conflict resolution, input, and communication. Residential Contracts staff also work closely with the DFPS Third Party Reviewer and the DFPS Licensing Division to ensure contractors maintain compliance with service level and licensing standards.
