Training Topic 1: Common Applications (cont)
Why Are Common Applications Important?
The Common Application serves many important purposes as related to child placement:
- The common application is used by OCOK to match the child to the best possible available placement within the OCOK network;
- OCOK utilizes the information from the common application to assist with matching children with foster families or providers that can best meet the child's needs.
- Once OCOK finds one or more possible placement matches for a child, they must provide the provider with a completed common application.
- In most cases, the provider will NOT consider placement of a child without a completed common application.
