8265 Subsequent Adoptive Placement Services

8265.1 Determining Eligibility

CPS November 2006

A child is eligible for Subsequent Adoptive Placement Services when an adoptive placement disrupts and the original contractor subsequently places the same child in another adoptive home. DFPS may reimburse the contractor for the subsequent placement as if it were a new placement.

A child in a legal risk placement is not eligible for Subsequent Adoptive Placement Services.

8265.2 Referring Clients

CPS November 2006

When a placement disrupts the CPA that arranged the placement works with CPS to identify a new placement for the child.

If the CPA is successful and the child is placed, see 8262 Adoptive Placement Services (Including Legal Risk).
