Special Events

Work on committees to coordinate special event planning for children served by our ministry. Help the children celebrate birthdays, Christmas, Easter, and any ordinary day as gifts from God. Coordinate our annual events. You will also get to plan events that will recognize the contributions of ministry volunteers and donors. Please specify event planning specialty as children, volunteer, or donor.

Brunch 'n Blessings

Be part of the special events & membership recruitment teams by coordinating this blessed event. Held 4-6 times a year, this recruitment day is designed to introduce new people to the ministry, and is hosted by various congregations and organizations in the host location. It’s kind of like a combination prayer breakfast, fundraising mini-banquet, and membership mini-drive rolled into one fabulous fellowship opportunity.

Membership Recruitment

Our adopting families are recruited through the congregations and the congregations are recruited by—YOU! The more congregations we have that will find 5 families, the more children we will rescue from the foster care system. Our goal is 100 member congregations by the end of the 2003-2005 Super Drive. Multiply that by 5 families and that’s 500 permanent homes for over 500 kids. Wow. Let’s do it.

Advisory Board

Perfect for the person who wants to serve in every capacity possible—but from a distance! Gently guide the ministry in its pre-ordained direction with careful planning, foresight, and vision. Strategize and fellowship with other advisors who have lots of great ideas, but not a lot of time for those, um, delightful weekly meetings and daily phone calls.

Media Relations

Help increase visibility of the ministry through press coverage, community awareness, and the development of our print, broadcast, and web media presence. The more exposure we have, the more families we will reach, the more children we can serve. Visit us at www.gift-of-family.org.

Prayer Team

Give a child the gift of family by giving a child the gift of prayer. We need you to pray continuously for the children to find loving, permanent adoptive homes. Pray also for abundant life and that they become loving parents to their own children in the years to come. Pray for families to open their hearts and homes. Pray for our ministry leaders and supporters as we move boldly forward in God’s name.

Ministry Needs 'n Wishes

Ever wanted to be a contractor? Know someone who is? Our little home office is in need of general repairs, remodeling, and upkeep. We have a wish list available today for all who love to shop for odds n’ ends then find themselves on the pages of Architectural Digest. And if you know more about Microsoft Office XP than the average volunteer, we could sure use your help with database management.
