Parent Collaboration Group (PCG) is a group of parents whose families have been involved with Child Protective Services. The group works with CPS to help improve how CPS provides services and supports families.
As part of their work, the Parent Collaboration Group has collected these resources to help families who are currently involved with CPS.
The Family Helpline
Are you or your family involved with CPS? Call The Family Helpline at (844) 888-6565 with your questions. They can answer your questions about CPS in plain, everyday language. The helpline is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. English, Spanish, and other languages are available.
What kind of questions can The Family Helpline assist you with? Here are a few questions that other people ask a lot:
- What is involved in a CPS investigation?
- What are Family-Based Safety Services?
- What is Kinship Care?
- Will I need a lawyer?
- Will I speak with a lawyer?
The Family Helpline is answered by lawyers with CPS experience. You will receive legal information and education, but not legal advice or legal representation. The service is offered by the Texas Legal Services Center, which also offers Texas Law Help, the statewide legal aid website for Texas.
