What is Community-Based Care?

Community-Based Care (CBC) is a new way of providing foster care and case management services. It's a community-based approach to meeting the individual and unique needs of children, youth, and families.

Community-Based Care Contracting Opportunities

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) contracts within a geographic service area with a single contractor, officially known as a Single Source Continuum Contractor, or SSCC. The SSCC is responsible for finding foster homes or other living arrangements for children in state care and providing them a full continuum of services.

Current procurement opportunities are posted on the Electronic State Business Daily.  To apply for a Single Source Continuum Contract (SSCC) with DFPS, visit the Electronic State Business Daily website or eGrants website to search for Request for Application (RFA) postings.
