Protecting Children in Your Care
How do inspectors help protect the children in my care?
- Inspectors may enter and inspect any room of your home at any time during your operating hours. This may include checking contents of drawers and closets for hazards.
- If you care for children during nights and weekends, inspectors may come to your home during those hours.
- Most inspections are unannounced, meaning you may not be notified when Licensing plans to visit your home.
- Parents may also visit your home at any time during your hours of operation. Although Licensing may inspect all areas of your home, Licensing Inspectors mainly focus on areas of your home used for child care.
