Must I change the outside areas of my home, too?
Yes, as described here:
- Health, safety, and child development requirements apply to the outside of your home as well as the inside.
- Your outdoor play area, including outdoor activities and equipment, must be maintained to keep children safe.
- Children must not have unsupervised access to swimming pools, wading pools, or other bodies of water.
Minimum standards require home-based caregivers to provide outdoor playtime twice daily; once in the morning and afternoon unless weather conditions are unsafe.
