Record Keeping

Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards require child care providers to keep and maintain records related to their child care business.

You must maintain children’s records, such as:

  • immunization records,
  • admission information, and
  • feeding schedules for infants.

You must maintain your records, such as:

  • annual training,
  • your First-Aid/CPR certification, and
  • proof of background check requests.

All of these records are important for you to protect the safety and well-being of the children in your care. For help with record keeping, check the DFPS website or ask your Licensing inspector for available checklists.
