One Team. One Goal.

Adult Protective Services' (APS) mission is to protect older adults and people with disabilities from abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. But we don't do this work alone! APS counts on the efforts of a wide variety of partners. Our Partnering to Protect campaign is designed to foster strong and effective collaborations with partners across the state. Together we can protect the unprotected.

"APS cannot do this work alone. APS needs partners to help restore dignity to the lives of individuals who have been subjected to abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation."

—Kez Wold, APS Associate Commissioner

How APS Works with Partners

APS investigates when someone alleges that a member of either of these groups is a victim of abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation. APS replies on partners each step of the way from initial investigation though Client Service Plan execution and more.

How APS Protects Texas Adults

APS is a division of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). We serve Texans who live in the community who are age 65 or older and adults, age 18 to 64, who have a disability that substantially affects their ability to live independently.
