Private Adoption Agencies
Private adoption agencies work in partnership with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to find adoptive homes for children. If you adopt a child in the conservatorship of DFPS, the following agencies can provide you with adoption services at no cost. You may also review the agencies regulatory history of inspections and reports at: Search Texas Child Care.

Area Served: Nueces, Kleberg, Jim Wells, Bee, Live Oak, San Patricio, and Aransas counties Requirement: You must be 21 years of age or older, single or married (if married, min. of two years), retired or employed, be emotionally and physically healthy, not have a history of abusing a child or another adult, and no criminal history or have proof of rehabilitation Services: Our ministries include foster care, adoption, residential treatment centers, charter schools, services to the poor, senior services, and disaster response. The LSS/Foster in Texas program provides care for children of all ages. We provide care for children designated Child Care Services or Treatment Services that include Emotional Disorders, Mental Retardation, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, and Primary Medical Needs. Our adoption programs include domestic, international, as well as foster to adopt. LSS/Foster in Texas provides tremendous support to our families, which include extensive trainings, 24-hour support, and a supportive respite program. |

Services: Pathways is a private, non-profit agency that recruits, trains, and supports families to be foster and adoptive homes for abused and neglected children and youth. Our families are the most important members of our Professional Treatment Team that includes Adoption Specialists, Therapists, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and other support staff. We provide families with reimbursement according to the therapeutic needs of the foster child, training, 24-hour crisis response, in-home therapeutic services, and an opportunity to build hope in the lives of those who need it most.
