Foster youth that are in care, as well as those who have transitioned out of care, are in dire need of mentorship from committed adults. Mentoring provides a valuable experience for any child, but for foster youth, it can be especially beneficial and is key to achieving normalcy.

While the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) does not pair volunteer mentors with youth, we do provide mentorship coordination with organizations throughout the state of Texas that offer mentorship services.

If you are interested in serving as a mentor, click on your region on the Texas map to find an organization near you and contact them directly.
