DFPS worked with stakeholders to identify and clearly define/describe each of the twenty-four Service Packages and Add-On Services. The descriptions for each Service Package and Add-On Service served as the basis for HHSC’s development of the T3C System rate methodology and calculating the T3C daily foster care rates.
The CANS 3.0 will inform a child’s Primary Setting. The child will be assigned to only one primary setting.
If the assessment tool indicates more than one setting as equally appropriate, then the setting with the highest rating will be selected and if needed, availability of beds by setting may also be reviewed.
